Responsibilities

Adams Street Partners is seeking an Investor Relations Associate to join the investor relations team, based in Japan.  The Investor Relations Associate will work closely with the Product Strategy, Investor Relations and Marketing teams and will be responsible for conducting research, managing and analyzing data, and coordinating the execution of the appropriate follow-up activities with prospective and current clients.  This position will provide broad exposure to the strategy and investment capabilities of Adams Street.

 

Specifically, this individual will be involved and responsible for:

  • Conducting market and prospect research across the region to identify new business opportunities.
  • Maintaining a system to gather competitive intelligence and monitor industry events and trends, and ensuring internal databases are updated and maintained.
  • Management and maintenance of the tracking database used to support the identification of prospective clients and monitor the status of investment discussions.
  • Collaborating with Investor Relations and Marketing teams to customize marketing, client communications and collateral materials to convey targeted and informational responses.
  • Supporting the IR and marketing teams in creating written content that is targeted, compelling, responsive and accurate in conveying Adams Street Partners’ capabilities, processes and thought leadership in private equity investment management.
  • Collaborating with teams across the firm to support effective solutions that support marketing objectives, client interests, and satisfies the requirements of a registered investment advisor.
  • Completing special projects related to existing client portfolios and firmwide strategic initiatives.
  • Seeking opportunities to improve efficiencies to support Adams Street’s marketing needs and processes.
  • Preparing due diligence materials, investor presentations, investor reporting materials, and modeling support for account managers.
  • Developing and organizing internal processes and procedures to ensure consistency, integrity, timeliness and quality of communications to prospective clients.
  • Exercising a combination of project management and hands-on execution to ensure that important projects are accomplished on deadline and with the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

We seek an individual who is self-disciplined, demonstrates creative thinking and has the following characteristics:

  • Graduated from a top-tier undergraduate university, ideally with a business/marketing focus.
  • Experience in a professional services firm, preferably with an investment management firm, consulting firm, or investment bank in a research or data management related role with a demonstrated capability of supporting research and analytics.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Strong business writing skills and ability to clearly and accurately communicate business and financial services product information.
  • Knowledge of private markets and the institutional client and consultant community preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency with proprietary databases and software systems, including CRM database systems, ideally Salesforce.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite products.
  • Interest in staying abreast of industry trends, product knowledge and trends in marketing and investor relations.
  • Ability to synthesize technical information and prepare technical materials and related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Strategic thinker and operates independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Interest in client-facing roles.
